how much will my textbooks cost?

Although book expenses vary depending upon individual course choices and the requirements for those courses, you should expect to spend between $500 and $900 a semester for your books and supplies. The College Store accepts cash, checks, Student ID card, Visa, MC, Discover or gift cards.

how do i purchase or rent books from the college store?

We offer various options for purchasing or renting the books you need. Information regarding each option follows below.  Always have your class schedule with you when you come in to purchase or rent your textbooks.  During move-in week, our student assistant will be on hand to answer your questions or direct you to the proper section in the Book Room.

when can i come in to purchase or rent books from the college store?

Our goal is to have our Book Room fully stocked and all textbooks ready to purchase or rent by
August 12th.  Prior to August 12th, our inventory of books will be arriving daily. While you are welcome to come in to purchase your books at any time, we can’t guarantee all books will be in stock if you come in prior to August 12th.  Always bring your class schedule with you when you come in to purchase or rent your books!

Elizabethtown College Store Textbook Reservation Program

Textbook reservation is the easiest and best way to reserve and purchase your textbooks.  Using your schedule to guide you, order and purchaseyour books online through our website at www.etowncollegestore.com.  Then pick up your box of books during move-in week or the first week of classes. (Of course, we can also ship your books to you; shipping charges will apply.) You also get the first pick of used books (when available), offering a potential savings of 25%; plus, it eliminates the worries of not having the textbooks when you need them. NOTE: If you order your books online, fulfillment of your online order will not begin until mid- August after all of our inventory has arrived. Your credit card will not be charged until your order is fulfilled. If you indicate shipment to your campus mailbox, you can pick up your order in the College Store on your move-in day or any day after. Your Student ID card is required to pick up any order.  (Please note: every attempt will be made to notify you, as soon as possible, if we do not have a book in stock; availability of used textbooks is not guaranteed.)

Rental Programs

We offer two different rental programs:

Campus Book Rentals – (in person)

With this option, you can rent almost every title using the rental kiosk located near the registers inside the College Store.  The advantage of this option is that you can take a book directly from the shelf in the Book Room, scan it at the kiosk, pay for it with a credit or debit card and leave with your rented book.  At the end of the semester, just bring your rented books back to the College Store and we will box and ship them for you.

SKYO – (online)

With this option, you can rent almost every title online from the comfort of your home or dorm room. Just go to www.etowncollegestore.skyo.com/ to set up your account and rent your textbooks.  The books are shipped directly to you from SKYO. At the end of the semester, you print a shipping label from your account, box up the rental books and ship your books back to SKYO/Follett via FED EX at no charge to you.  SKYO toll-free Customer Service phone number is 1-888-398-1977.

Buying from the College Store vs. Our Competitors

1.     We are institutionally owned. Our profit is returned to the College to support/fund your student activities.

8.     We automatically provide replacements for defective books, at no charge.

9.     There are never any taxes assessed or shipping charges when you purchase textbooks online or in person and pick up your books at the College Store.

Return Policies

Textbooks

New and used textbooks purchased for the current semester are returnable for the first three (3) days from the start of the semester with the original receipt. New textbooks must be in perfect condition, no highlighting, no bent corners. Shrink-wrapped packages must be unopened in original packaging or 25% will be deducted from the original price paid. Defective textbooks will be replaced at no charge. Refunds are subject to the discretion of the Textbook Manager and will be issued in the same form as original payment.

Electronics

Unopened electronic merchandise is returnable for seven (7) days.  After this time period, please contact the manufacturer directly to resolve the problem. Computer software and opened printer cartridges are non-returnable.

Merchandise

For all other College Store merchandise returns, there is no time limit. Merchandise must be in original packaging unless defective. If you do not have a receipt, you will receive a store credit and a 25% restocking fee will be assessed or an even exchange for size, color or style can be made. All returns are subject to the discretion of store personnel and will be issued in the same form as the original payment. During sales, no price adjustments will be given on previous purchases.
