The Hes sign in hieroglyphics means "praised." This vase was used in the purification procession and for pouring libations to the gods.
Normally, Hes vases are formed of five individual pieces comprising the rim, the neck, the spout, the body, and the base; they are soldered accurately. This Hes vase is different from the other one discovered in the same tomb because it has no spout.
It is inscribed with the cartouches and titles of King Psusennes the First.
