Promoting with articles has been one of my most coveted book marketing techniques which have evolved to a constant ongoing strategy in my marketing campaigns. Here’s some example’s of how it works:

1. Write a semi-brief article about a topic of interest to your target audience, add4ress them as I do you in this article, make them, make them an actual part of it, allow them the latitude to be part of it in your writing. Always include your reader as a constant, as if having coffee together.

2. Some like to include an author bio of less than a paragraph that explains who you are, includes your book title and a link to your website. I say do that naturally by inference, such as describing yourself and your views, your likes and dislikes within the article if it applies, but do so craft like, and as a fellow perspective holder. Leave the book titles and site location in your signature or blurb at the end of the article, yes at the end, it is less pretentious and times ten more professional.

3. Okay, now (Post edit/proof) we can now submit the article for internet publication to various websites, newspapers online, and magazine or other publications.

4. Post the article on your website or blog as well, unless you have agreements of exclusive rights of content publishing to your articles with the site holders. I am always striving to write each article for my site holders and now clients, whenever possible.

However, you can place a header that says: “All articles by John or Jane Smith-read now” or here:
Then set the links there in the order of date post to show and indemnify the ongoing article popularity and profession as a writer that is actually read, and read a great deal.

This keeps them wanting your stuff, and gives them content no one else has, and this should be your goal at least twice a week, to provide exclusive content to your site providers with the traffic that you want, and increase their traffic due to your articles, and following audiences..

5. Now you can actually reap the benefits of your “quiet promotions, and start selling books, and sell you will, I assure you of that.

You, by publishing not just a single article, but several articles, some the same, to dozens of online and traditional publications.
You the author and now writer are in focus of a greater audience, more readers.

Yes indeed boy howdy, you have the ability to reach all kinds of new readers for your books and clients for your business (This is a business). Since your quiet non-intrusive signature or blurb bio includes details about your book, blog, article submission sites, and website, you are bound to gain new fans. Actually more than a few, a great deal of fans, and an audience you would have never had or found otherwise.

So how cool is that?

Now dig this little tid-bit of inside action, as an added bonus, posting your articles online adds links pointing back to your blog or website. This is great for search engine optimization feature you add, and since Google wants to see lots of incoming links to your website, you get to add these as a bonus. 

A fact to understand however, is that Google will not display multiple websites with the same article. The search engine identifies duplicate content and will only display a single instance of the article, likely on the most popular site where it is displayed. 

However, each article doesn’t need to show up in search results to attract traffic from the various websites where it appears, your quiet but ever-present signature links and blurbs will do that, and do it well, you’ll see.

How To Always Be Generating Article Ideas

Every author can find topics for articles. The news is full of interesting content, and the great thing is, online you can see which news articles are ‘clicked’ or read the most, and what exactly is trending in the online market place. Remember, what trends or is popular in off line print, is not always what is of focus online.

For example, if your book or genre is romance, a thriller, a mystery, a crime-drama, a work of erotica, the key is about finding the right topic which is related in some way, choose topics that are close or exactly like the genre or your book content. 

This should be an other quiet little secret of yours, always write your article if possible about topic like formats to your books. However, I myself write about everything and anything often, that diversity is also a key to widening your audience, and growing it times ten.

Yes indeed, you can even write about weather disasters, and you could write articles about job hunting, effective interview skills, negotiating salaries, and dressing for success. 

 
You can write about deals in fashion, the best place to get coupons or discounts, these are great eye catchers, and have done well for me on occasion.
An attorney could write articles about business law and how the consumer may handle their own legal problems, while a leadership consultant could write business-related articles for his or her target audience of business executives, or how to be an up and coming employee.

Submitting to Internet Content Portals, this is the greatest part of all of it, it is so easy once you gain some minor experiences and contacts.

There are literally hundreds of content sites that allow you to post articles that others can reprint in their newsletters, websites and blogs. While you make the article available for free reprint, anyone who uses your article must provide proper credit and include your bio and or quiet signature information with all of your various links, and website link.

Guess what, this is it and you just may be surprised by how quickly your articles, and your website link or links, will proliferate across the Internet once you begin posting to content sites. 

 
For years I have made it a steady habit to write one to two articles each week, and then have my assistant submit them to my favorite content portals. Here are some of the top content sites, and just a few as example, there are many others out there, just Google the query “Where to submit articles on the internet or online.” You will be amazed at how much opportunity is out there just waiting and begging for your stuff everyday, all day. And guess what, some will even pay you for as much as you can write, if your style and topics draw traffic and get comments: Please note, there are over 260 sites here, and they are just the tip of the iceberg.

Remember it is important to scan each site that you plan to contact for virus or malware, as they are usual targets for those who wish to inflict upon the working class.
These are just shown as an example, you target your audience, where your audience is.

In addition, there are at least fifty press release sites out there that charge for the privileged use, and it is easy squeezy weezy deezy..
PR WEB is the top site to reach the greatest of audience, and goes to every single media outlet in the free world.

Here is another little trick or practice to remember, when I first started, I kept a log or resume that displayed links to all of my articles, how many comments they got, how many unique visitors read them, and how they increased site standings.

This got me to the better more popular sites, as well got me more articles to write, and greater exposure overall, it just went nuts, and guess what, so did my book sales by four-hundred percent, then more and more. In addition, as my demand as a writer and journalist. It got me the syndicated column I write today. Oh yeah, that pays over $39000.00 a year now, and growing when my contract is up in June.

Submitting to Websites

Many websites operate on a limited budget and appreciate high-quality articles written by authors. Ideally you want to offer your articles for reprint to websites that reach your target audience. 
One way to accomplish this is to begin searching for sites on Google and build your own contact list. Each site should offer submission guidelines and if you can’t find them, contact the site administrator or owner to inquire. You can simply submit your articles for consideration or offer to swap articles with website owners and co-promote each other, and sometimes even get paid.
