Realizing you are not going to get a raise, self assessment

There is always a time in everyone’s life where they realize that they are not getting a raise. You will need to keep in mind that when you are getting a raise they there are many things that affect rather you get accepted or denied. Basically, you are not the only factor in this. You have to understand that the company may not be able to just hand out raises. You will also want to think about how others will receive your raise. There are many points that you’ll need to take seriously.

First, you will find that your actions, around the time of asking for a raise, is very important. You need to make sure that they feel you deserve the raise. You’ll also find that there are many things that reflect on you, including your attitude, timing, and appeal. You will not only need to worry about work performance, but you need to think about the way that you dress, the way you act, and the way you take criticism. You need to work on any attitude adjustments that may be needed. You need to think about yourself as a package. Do you fit into the package?

Secondly, you will need to take inconsideration that there are many ways that you’ll be able to work in a raise, but if you are asking too much, and then you may want to just accept the loss. Basically, you need to think rather or not the company can afford to give you a raise. Just because they can afford to give you this raise, but are you thinking about everyone else? The company may not be able to afford to let this raise get out of hand. It’s very important that you start slowly and you work around a good deal so that you don’t get turned down automatically.

Thirdly, you will need to think about the economics of it all. Is the market stable? Just because the company is doing well right now, doesn’t mean that they will continue to do well. They may end up filing for bankruptcy next month. You may want to think about your job stability rather than your paycheck at the minute. Right now, America is in a recession and has been in a recession for a long time. It could go into a depression or it can go and boast back up. It’s very tricky business when it comes to predicting the market. With war, oil prices, and so on you’ll need to think about the economy and how the company stands.

There are a lot of reasons why the company will need to have you on their side. It is important that you give your best into the job so that they can learn to appreciate you at work. If you just do so-so work, then you’ll never get the raise that you crave so much. You will need to learn how to deal with evolving in the job and learning from your mistakes rather than trying to have it all. You are very important to the job, because everyone plays an important role, however, you’ll need to think about having a career that will be able to go further than a couple months. Keep in mind that when you do the time, you will be paid back in full with raises and bonus and appreciations. Don’t blow it by sulking about a raise that no one is getting. You will only find that there is more appreciation to go around when you put all your heart into a job. You’ll also want to consider that there are a lot of reasons why you’ll need to think about other people rather than a raise too.
